Oh what a fabulous spot this is. Perched at the foot of the ocean, each room in this B& B is uniquely furnished. We had a ground floor suite which had a gas fireplace and a hot tub on the deck. The bed was so comfortable, the sheets so soft, that one could have luxuriated there all day. Step outside on the deck, and not only is the ocean lapping almost at your feet, but you can see the whales cavorting nearby. Truly 5 star accomodations.

Stayed here in the Whale Watching suite with my girlfriend for her birthday. We both absolutely loved it. The room was fantastic with a view of both the ocean and the channel to the harbor. The staff was helpful and welcoming. We both enjoyed the way the room was furnished and the hot tub on the deck. By the way, the room was aptly named - we saw a whale from our bedroom! Stay at the Channel House and enjoy Depoe Bay.

Our first stay here will not be the last, what a gem hiding on the Oregon coast. When we arrived we were greeted by Elliott, very Friendly and informative. He walked us to our room, and explained everything about our room ( the Cuckoo's nest) then he showed us the view from our deck, just as a whale broke the surface of the water, are you kidding me did they plan that. the room and the view are great. Watching the sun set from the hot tub on our deck was the best. The gentleman in the breakfast room could not do enough for us, the fresh baked rolls and pastries are great, we will be back next time we head up the coast. Thanks Channel House staff for a great stay.

We recently spent two nights at Channel house. I was really looking forward to our stay here after reading about the facility and location right on the ocean on Depoe Bay. Whale watching, hot tub, in room fireplace. . .I planned on relaxing and enjoying the view. Well, our room was on the end on the bottom floor, (Foredeck room) End room means in was right on the channel leading into the marina area hence at 6am all fishing boats and whale watching boats start heading out to sea. We are early risers so it wasn't much of a problem but if you like to sleep late, request a room on the other side of the hotel. I guess we didn't spend enough for a room? Because we were ground floor level, our patio was not private so any other guests on the ground floor could walk along the fence/grass area interrupting your private hot tub experience so wear your bathing suit! One night, the sea gulls decided to hang out on our deck overnight so we awakened to bird poop all over the deck and hot tub but when we asked at the front desk, they were very accommodating and it was cleaned. They were not so accommodating when we asked to exchange our wine glasses for clean glasses the second night. $280+ a night and I can't have two clean glasses? Ah well, the bed was very comfy, the breakfast was included and quite nice with great fresh fruit, homemade pastries, coffee, juice etc. The location is great for whale watching in July, close to a hiking trails on either side of the bay and within walking distance to several good places to eat. Overall, I recommend Channel House! Except for a few glitches, we enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed in the Swiftsure room. Front desk is friendly and very helpful, the room was beautiful and clean. The view was somewhat obstructed by an ugly electric pole but certainly didn't change my opinion of the hotel or the amazing view around the pole. Listening to the ocean waves crashing as we sip wine on our little private outside area or falling asleep to it's soothing melody is worth the price. Would for sure stay again!

Yet another first class stay in the Admiral's Suite on my wife's B-day! They look after you awesome here and not one thing went awry. My wife said it was the best B-day she has ever had. Thanks guys for all the hard work to make this place truly unforgettable.

We stayed at Channel House last weekend while attending a family gathering along the Oregon coast. This accommodation was booked as a surprise for me, and suffice it to say, I was beyond pleasantly surprised. We stayed in the Captain's Quarter's, a suite arrangement that allowed both the bedroom and the living room full ocean views. We left the sliding door to the balcony open each night so that we could fall asleep to the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore just below our windows. It was just like sleeping on the beach, except that we had an exquisite mattress and a bathtub on the balcony, and we didn't have sand in our drawers. Oh. Did I not mention the tub? It was the best. It's the perfect place to stargaze (we saw some falling stars from that tub, which somehow seems so much more romantical when submerged in really warm water with a cute guy in an outdoor bathtub). The complimentary breakfast is exquisite and the room in which its served has a couple of tables that make you feel like you're sitting right over the water. Fresh baked pastry, traditional bread pudding, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, delicious fresh citrus fruits and melon and freshly whipped cream... these, along with the deliciously strong coffee made a great start to our days. We are planning our next visit as I type. You should plan yours, too,

I don't get here near enough. Hubby & I go every chance we get, because it is incredible to sit in the Admiral's Suite on the deck and watch the boats come in and out of the bay and watch a beautiful sunset....all from inside a Jacuzzi tub that is cleverly located outside on the deck. Just got back from a one night stay there, and felt so relaxed that if felt like a week-long vacation!! While it is not the fanciest or must luxurious place, it is very nice, comfortable and has a warmth without pretentiousness. The beds are Posturepedic, the pillows down, and the towels Egyptian cotton. There are only 12 rooms in the Channel House, which allows you to have a completely personalized experience. They just acquired a property 5 doors down, and I understand the tubs are a bit larger, as are the decks there. But you really can't beat the view and privacy from the Admiral's Suite....That is, if you don't mind flashing the locals from the Depoe Bay Bridge getiing in and out of the tub :) Breakfast is always a treat, featuring an array of fresh-baked pastries and other accompaniments. Every time we leave, we feel refreshed and relaxed. There's nowhere else on the coast we'd rather stay for a romantic getaway.

This place boasts an amazing view. Being 20 feet from the wave-crashing ocean is always an experience. My wife and I were on the coast for our honeymoon and found the Channel House through some online researching. We wanted to find a place that's not set in a tourist-ridden town and we got what we asked for. Though it's called a B&B, it has a hybrid feel of a hotel and B&B. When I think B&B - I assume it's a husband/wife pair and to get somewhat of a down home feel. Here, there was a staff, maid service and notes laying around reminding you that it wasn't really a B&B but it was, if that makes sense. The decor is set in the late 80's or early 90's, which is the only real complaint I have about the Channel House. It's 15 minutes from Newport or Lincoln city, which worked out great for day trips and dinners. Checking in and out was a breeze. The cost was a bit much and we would have felt less out of place if we were over 50, looking to rekindle our love life and really loved wearing our boat shoes with short shorts and a Ralph Lauren sweater over my polo. Despite being a bit young for the B&B and the town itself, we still enjoyed ourselves and would definitely stay there again and would recommend that others stay there if you end up on the OR coast.

The Channel House was our October honeymoon spot and it was everything we had hoped for. We had reserved the spectacular Whale Watch Suite, which featured a separate bedroom with big windows and a jacuzzi tub on the deck that overlooks the ocean. Our room was also quite cozy, complete with a fireplace and a comfy couch. We had a flatscreen TV with a built-in DVD player and we borrowed a DVD from the front desk all three nights of our stay. The breakfast room was very nice with a few tables that gave great ocean views (since the window was probably about 15 feet from a cliff and about another 10 from crashing waves). On the first morning of our stay, we saw a gray whale spout up less than 100 feet from where we sat eating. It was pretty incredible. The breakfast itself was bountiful. There were all sorts of fresh baked goods and fresh fruit, along with several juices. There weren't any meats or eggs, but we were completely satisfied. It's been a little over 2 years since our honeymoon, but we would love to visit again. The price makes it a little difficult when you consider the other available options along the coast. However, for a special occasion, I can't imagine there are many places on the Oregon Coast that can compete with the Channel House.

This place is amazing. My wife and I go here every year to enjoy the great views, nice staff and awesome breakfast!

I give the Channel House Inn 4.5 stars. It would get 5 if there was air conditioning (it just happened to be really hot when we were there), and if the decor was slightly updated. Big two-room space, private jacuzzi, literally 20 feet off the ocean, fresh homemade breakfast, and unbelievable views throughout the inn = PERFECT. Truly relaxing and beautiful. It's very comfortable and better then many hotels I've stayed in. I'll definitely come back if I'm on the coast again.

My husband and I recently took a long weekend vaca at the Channel House. We stayed in the Commander's suite, but the entire inn is amazing! Vast, gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean complete with grey whale sitings and sunsets galore. Every room has a private whirlpool tub on its balcony and we spent a great deal of time soaking in the tub, listening to the ocean and watching the Pacific roll in. The suites themselves are very nice and have great amenities like gas fireplaces and indoor soaking tubs as well as the outdoor soaking tubs! Depoe Bay itself was a bevy of gourmet food & wine. Sarah, the innkeeper, was very friendly and knowledgeable as she grew up in the area, and all her recommendations for food and fun were on point. We will definitely be returning to the Channel House for some R&R as soon as we can!

My husband and I discovered this place several years ago. We just returned from a night there and it reminded me why this place is so special. We were in Suite #1 on the very top corner of the building. This room gave a panoramic view of the Depoe Bay, both town, bridge and the ocean. The outdoor jacuzzi was fabulous, even on a stormy night in February. We love the complimentary breakfast as well; fresh fruit, homemade pasteries, yogurt, cereal, hardboiled eggs, waffles, toast, the list goes on and on. You won't leave hungry from this "continental" breakfast. The staff is fabulous and every amenity you could dream of is taken care of. This is not a place for children, so we use this as our getaway spot and leave the kids with grandma.

When you are looking for a romantic getaway by the shore, look no further. The well appointed rooms and luxurious hot tubs of the Channel house are just two reasons to stay. The view of the ocean is magnificent, and the water couldn't get much closer. The small town lying around you may not be much, but it's got everything you need. Newport and Depoe Bay combined have quite a few restaurants, but if you can afford the room with the kitchen, you're all set. Call in advance, as this place can fill up very quickly. Also, be careful if you stay there out of season. Be sure to get a good deal on the room, as there are precious few things open in that area during the winter.

We love this place. Rooms are right on the ocean, and all have spectacular views....especially wonderful for whale watching. Service and breakfast are first rate!

We stayed at Channel House for two nights for our honeymoon. It was a fantastic time!!! The staff is friendly and helpful and the hot tub overlooking the ocean was amazing. We sat on our deck reading and looking at the ocean for hours. Such a lovely, peaceful trip. And the place was completely booked and it felt like we had it all to ourselves. I can't wait to go back!
